Abstract:
In this hands-on webinar, Prof. Hanh Nguyen will show how specific grammatical structures are used in context. Participants will examine data excerpts from authentic conversations in order to understand how structures such as simple sentences with the copula be, tenses and aspects, and relative clauses are used for interactional purposes. Participants will also be introduced to a data bank of authentic conversations in English for further explorations. Familiarity with conversation analysis is a plus but not required.
